A life long Pars fan John was appointed chairman on 11 June 1999, just after their relegation from the SPL, and at various times board positions on league and association bodies in addition to his club role.
Yorkston was the managing director of First Scottish Group, a legal services company, until October 2012 when he retired from this position.
